Jensen Park Playground - 2007

Ordinary people performing EXTRAORDINARY WORK

Kiwanis, through guidance and example, works to develop future generations of leaders. Every day, Kiwanians are revitalizing neighborhoods, organizing youth-sports programs, tutoring, building playgrounds, and performing countless other projects to help children and communities.

The Arlington Kiwanis Club, the Arlington Rotary Club and the Arlington Lions Club built a permanent set of playground equipment in Jensen Park for the neighborhood in and around Jensen Farm housing development.  This cooperative project was initiated by Denny Byrnes of the Kiwanis Club.

The Objects of Kiwanis International

The six permanent Objects of Kiwanis Internatonal were approved by Kiwanis Club delegates at the 1924 Convention in Denver, Colorado.  Through the succeeding decades, they have remained unchanged.

+ To encourage the daily living of the Golden Rule in all human relationships.

+  To promote the adoption and the applicaton of higher social, business and professional standards.

+  To develop, by precept and example, a more intelligent, aggressive, and serviceable citizenship.

+  To provide, through Kiwanis Clubs, a practical means to form enduring friendships, to render altruistic service, and to build better communities.

+  To cooperate in creating and maintaining that sound public opinion and high idealism which make possible the increase of righteousness, justice, patriotism and goodwill.
